Britney Spears Hospitalized after Dispute Over Custodian!
Britney Spears hit a perilous new low on Thursday night when authorities reportedly responded to a family-custody dispute at her house in Studio City, California. According to TMZ.com and other outlets, the singer refused to turn over her two children to ex-husband Kevin Federline, and authorities discovered her under the influence of an unidentified substance.
The Los Angeles Police Department was reportedly called to Spears' house after a person who has not been identified phoned authorities at 8 p.m. over a domestic disturbance. The call involved a "family custodial dispute that we are trying to resolve ... peacefully by court order," LAPD spokesman Officer Jason Lee told The Associated Press. She was due to have her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, until 7 p.m. that day. UsMagazine.com later reported that Federline's bodyguards had gone to pick up the children at Spears' house, but she refused to turn them over, despite a court order to do so. She had been with the children since noon, according to UsMagazine.com. Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan had also been at the residence, TMZ reports.
Police went to Spears' home 90 minutes later, as did ambulances, fire trucks and a police helicopter, according to TMZ. While there, authorities reportedly found Spears "under the influence of an unknown substance," TMZ reports. She was later taken out of her home on a gurney by paramedics and taken to a local hospital, where she was reportedly placed under medical evaluation. According to multiple reports, the children are in the custody of Federline, who has temporary custody of the children because Spears has not obeyed court orders.
UsMagazine reported that as of 3:45 a.m. P.T., the singer remained hospitalized under observation, with an unnamed hospital source saying that she has been designated a "special needs" patient, meaning "they have either overdosed or tried to commit suicide. So we go stay with these patients and monitor them constantly. We watch them so they don't hurt themselves and watch the people who come visit them to make sure they don't pass anything to them."
Earlier in the day, Spears finally sat down for her long-awaited deposition in her child-custody battle, although she cut the session short and was only questioned for 14 minutes. She had been scheduled to start her deposition at 9:45 a.m. but didn't leave her home until after 10 a.m., according to photos and video taken of her drive to her ex-husband's lawyer's offices in Century City, California. By the time Spears arrived, she was 90 minutes late, and proceedings didn't start until just after 11:30 a.m., according to Kaplan.
"I would've preferred it had gone on longer," Kaplan told reporters waiting outside the deposition. Kaplan was expected to ask the pop star, who he called "cooperative," about her alleged drug and alcohol use around her sons, as well as her driving habits and parenting techniques. Whether he got the answers he sought, he wouldn't say, except to offer, "You can imagine in 14 minutes there's not a lot of time to develop questions."
Spears lawyer Sorrell Trope, a partner at the law firm Trope and Trope -which on Wednesday asked to be withdrawn as her legal counsel -told UsMagazine.com in reference to the Thursday night incident, "In a normal case when someone shows up with a certified court order saying the kids need to be somewhere else, the police see to it that the order is obeyed. But that is in a normal case."

It seems the world is just brinmming over with sex tapes these days.
Another day, another sex tape. This time, Amy Fisher is coming to home video. Leave it to the future ex husband of the Long Island Lolita for the release of this one!
Fisher had married a guy and is now trying to divorce him. So what does the ex go off do? He sells their sex tape to a video distributor.
A what a class act for a husband!
This is all according to the NY Post report about the story. The mag says her future husband Lou Bellera sold it this month. The tape was made earlier this year, before they filed for divorce, according to David Krieff, who had produced reunion specials with Fisher, her ex-lover Joey Buttafuoco and Buttafuoco’s ex-wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco.
“I was told she was a willing participant at the time it was made, as a private video with her husband,” Krieff said.
“I feel bad for Amy and Lou,” Krieff added. “I think they were having a fight and he made a bad decision that’s coming back to haunt them now.”
The company releasing the tape? The same that did Paris Hilton (”1 Night in Paris”), professional wrestler Chyna (”1 Night in Chyna”) and even former child actor Dustin Diamond - best known for “Saved by the Bell.”

Virginia Tech Hokies
Jayhawks have some Hokie in them
By J. BRADY McCOLLOUGH
The Kansas City Star
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. | When Mark Mangino took over the Kansas program, he knew a good place to look for a blueprint of how to build something where there was literally nothing.
Blacksburg, Va.
“We went back and evaluated (Virginia) Tech’s program from the time coach (Frank) Beamer arrived,” Mangino said. “There are a lot of similarities between what we’re trying to do and what coach Beamer and his staff have accomplished.”
That’s the thing. Kansas still has more than a decade of work ahead of it to get where the Hokies are. Tonight’s Orange Bowl will be Virginia Tech’s 15th straight appearance in a bowl game. KU has been bowl eligible the last three years, but was not invited to a bowl game in 2006. When the Jayhawks look across the line of scrimmage at the Hokies, they can only hope they’ll be gazing into the future of their program.
When making comparisons, it could be argued that Virginia Tech came from even humbler beginnings. The Hokies weren’t even a member of a conference and stayed independent until 1991, when they joined the Big East. By the beginning of Beamer’s sixth season, some fans were calling for his ouster. Mangino experienced the same thing this offseason, heading into year six.
It would take only two years — eight total — for Virginia Tech to play in a major bowl game. The Hokies beat Texas 28-10 in the 1995 Sugar Bowl, announcing their arrival to the rest of the country.
Beamer has said several times this week that KU has the exact same opportunity against his team tonight.
“Back when we played Texas in ’95 in the Sugar Bowl, I really thought that game meant more to us than it did to Texas,” Beamer said. “We ended up beating them. We were kind of a new team on the block back then. Now Kansas, with the way they’ve come around, and we’ve been to a few bowls, we’ve got to be careful that it’s as important to us as it is to Kansas.”
The Jayhawks and Hokies share much in common. In Blacksburg, they carry a lunch pail as a symbol of their work ethic. In Lawrence, they talk about “sawin’ wood,” although Mangino hasn’t made the Jayhawks carry a saw onto the sideline as the Hokies do with their lunch pail — not yet, anyway.
Both teams are not built on blue-chip talent and have spent a lot of time emphasizing the importance of special teams as a key to beating programs with more talent.
“We’re kind of like Virginia Tech,” Kansas offensive tackle Cesar Rodriguez said. “(Beamer) doesn’t recruit those big-time stars. He doesn’t take all the guys everyone else wanted. He takes those middle-of-the-road guys. What they have at Virginia Tech, with the lunch pail, that’s awesome. It’s something you should go by. Don’t let any day go by when you don’t work.”
Beamer knows what hard work looks like, and he sees it in Mangino and the Kansas program.
“He deserves a lot of credit,” Beamer said. “Someone said how did they get so good so fast? It’s solid people. He’s a solid coach. They’re very disciplined. They play hard. They’re going to be good for a while. It all goes back to the direction that he took that Kansas team.”

Kumari Fulbright Mugshot
By Michael Amsterdam Jan 3, 2008 |
That nice glossy photo has now given way to a horrific looking booking photo where she looks flat out awful.
The events as revealed by police are pretty nasty. Fulbright who is 25 is accused, along with two men, of tying up her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend with plastic cable and duct tape, and holding him captive for hours in two different Tucson homes, the Arizona Daily Star reported, citing indictment documents in Pima County Superior Court.
Fulbright was indicted by a Pima County Superior Court Dec. 18, on five felony charges. The victim was convinced he was going to die as the three people, according to the police, threatened him with a gun, a knife and he was also bitten by Fulbright according to the reports. The name of the victim has yet to be released.
The reports claimed that he is 24 years old and Kumari lured him into the home. He was an ex-boyfriend and once he was in the home she informed him that she was going to take a shower and then left the room.
Two men would come armed and the situation escalated from there. The victim later escaped when the two men left after hours of questioning and threatening the man over what they believed was some stolen jewelry.
Once it was just the victim and the pin up girl Fulbright he worked his way out of his restraints and then struggled with her and a shot rang out from a .45 caliber pistol.
It didn't hit anyone and he was finally able to get loose and escaped and called police. Authorities have an arrest warrant for Micheal and Robert Ergonis, 44 and 46 respectively, who are believed to have fled Arizona for Colombia.
This is her calendar photo:

Digital Billboards To Broadcast Iowa Caucus Results
As numerous writers have noted, Iowa polling data doesn't tell us much of anything because of the complexities of the variables involved.
So the best "poll" to watch this evening would be the actual caucus results, which will be broadcast live online and on digital billboards in Iowa.
"We expect the bulk of the results to be in by 9.30 pm to 10 ," says Chris Allen, the Iowa Democratic Party's press secretary. (A Republican party representative couldn't be reached at the time of this posting.)
Both the Iowa Democratic party and the Republican Party of Iowa have partnered with Google to broadcast the phoned-in results visually online via Google Maps. It looks as if the Democrats' site will report the phoned-in results of its precincts live online, while the Republicans will report aggregated county results.
All this means that instead of watching the yammering pundits on television all evening, you could just check in online -- after all now you have the same access to the real-time data as the press does.
But if you feel that you must check in with some of the bloviators, and that you'd like a different take from CNN and Fox News, you could check in online with lefty bloggers and others who will be reporting in from Iowa at Air America's The Young Turks show.
I'm still looking for conservative bloggers at large in Iowa. Please feel free to e-mail me, or share your plans with our readers in the comments section below if you're a conservative blogger planning on reporting from the scene.
